Better Late Than Never...

I feel like a world famous juggler - with 8 balls in the air! My latest news is that the video game I sang on is finally out! "South of Midnight" is available on XBox and Steam. I sang "Cherie Tree". The soundtrack was written by Olivier Deriviere. You can hear the entire soundtrack as well as a short video about each song on YouTube. Take a listen! https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=south+of+midnight+cherry+tree

I was contacted out of the blue to audition for the song. They found me on BetterMe, a singing platform. I auditioned, and I got it! I had to sign an NDA so I couldn't tell anyone that I was singing, what I was singing, what game it was - NOTHING!

I utilized Robot Boy Records in Eugene, OR to record the song. On the final recording, Olivier was on zoom listening, giving feedback and clarifying what he wanted from me for the song. It was really exciting! I've done a lot of recording, but never for something so precise. Olivier did say he was amazed that I could return to the exact note I left on. That was high praise!

It was an invaluable experience. They flew me back to Nashville, TN and put me up in a hotel. I had laryngitis the whole time. I had also made the mistake of getting my hair cut just before I left. The walk to the studio was very wet. So here I come, can't talk and looking like a drowned rat. But everyone was so nice! We sat and listened to each song. It was the first time I had heard the final mix, and it was now paired with the video. The Creative Director, David Sears and I hit it off. Turns out we have chronic pain in common. I don't know how he could function in such a high stress job! Oh, and I got Covid at the airport on the way home!

I did get to walk the main street where it was wall to wall people in every establishment, each with live music. And the sidewalks were filled too. We went to dinner and drinks. There was one shop I really wanted to go into. Buy one pair of Cowboy Boots and get 3 free! Maybe next time.

I am happy to share the exitement of that episode in my life. I hope I get to go back and spend a week or so

to get a real feel of the music industry there. You never know, I might get to sing with some famous folk!
